Wildfire is highly relational. Fun and games are important to us. But we recognize that they are just the beginning. A happy, fulfilled life will be rich with: honest and close friendships, small groups that have spiritual impact, a safe place to worship God in an authentic way, mission projects that anyone can jump in on and benefit others, and tons of just meeting with Jesus.
The bottomline is, our kids are kids for a short amount of time. Strong percentages of teens become disinterested in their faith as they head to college...exactly when they need their faith more than ever. But we see the need for building their foundation of Jesus to be of incredible strength. And with that, maybe...just possibly, these kids can get to the other side without ill effect.
We engage through:
Wildfire Nights - the 1st and 3rd Saturday night of each month (minus summer months). This includes live worship, large and small group ministries, and fun/interactive games. Wildfire is for students in 5th-12th grades.
Small Groups - a chance for deeper sharing, building long-lasting relationships among peers and being known. Each group is age and gender based.
Bible Studies - the Bible is far from boring if we spend time reading it and listening for what God has to share with each of us. And it becomes even more fun when hearing what God is doing to each of the kids in our group while they read, prepare, and share with their friends.
Outreaches and Missions - outreaches to families in need, local hospitals, senior facilities, Food Pantry, Crisis Center, and other groups/organizations in our communities.
